I do believe that the sugar and creamer are Fiesta! We are in Yellowstone for the summer with no internet, so I am having to catch up on your Acadia/Campobello when we are outside the park. I have got to find out where it is and if they have seen any of the gorgeous views/houses that y'all have seen. I've never heard of Lubec, so this is an education. Love it and love the tea idea. Did y'all ever visit Carter's Grove in Williamsburg when it was open? It was set as it was in the 1940's, I think. Their kitchen reminds me of the one here, complete with ironing board and flat irons. When I think of a wood stove though, I think of my Granny telling me that she actually had to sweep the snow off hers at times in the winter when they lived in a cabin (not a cottage!) on what's now Skyline Drive. Now, that's some serious wood stove cooking! Loving all things Roosevelt I will definitely have to make a trip to Campobello before I wrap it up. This summer I will go back to Hyde Park and see Eleanor's cottage, which I missed last year. Between George Washington and the Roosevelts, I'm in heaven with sightseeing opportunities in this part of the country.Gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18052445200220681513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4309293625176086078.post-59482693470925504842013-08-21T21:29:16.424-04:002013-08-21T21:29:16.424-04:00Would love to tour those cottages. One a sugar cookie, and the other a sort of ginger snap, but soft not brittle. Both win best in class with me. I gladly finished the extra two cookies for the empty seat at our table. I forget the name of the tea they serve, but it is very dark and very smooth. I found both the presentations about Eleanor to be wonderful, full of interesting facts, great stories and often very moving. Franklin had a tough job given when he took office, but the country needed Eleanor too. Together they inspired a nation. They continue to inspire.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10739352885582343624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4309293625176086078.post-50762252690513438832013-08-21T17:19:12.962-04:002013-08-21T17:19:12.962-04:00Really love this post...as I do all your post...
