We saw the Blue Ridge Parkway in December of 2007, and I have always wanted to go back when the rhodies are blooming, or when the trees have turned. Nice thing about December, though, was that we could see a very long way with no leaves to block the view.Sue Malonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00332448503740101970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4309293625176086078.post-63801397568318844912013-06-17T01:18:18.766-04:002013-06-17T01:18:18.766-04:00We only saw a short portion of the BRP, but it was...We only saw a short portion of the BRP, but it was magnificent. I've covered it in the blog and don't want to bore those who've been following us all this time. Since I have no way to contact you, if you'll send me an email at RVDreamlife@gmail.com I'll give you the short version. There are definitely pros and cons.Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328866430156879312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4309293625176086078.post-24262623348149508022013-06-16T19:18:04.732-04:002013-06-16T19:18:04.732-04:00Sherry you have a beautiful farm in a picturesque ...Sherry you have a beautiful farm in a picturesque place with views and hiking all around. May I ask why do you guys spend most of your time "on the road"?? You have choices and seem to have the best of both worlds. My wife currently leans toward having a home-base; while I long for the excitement/adventure of the road. Can you please advise us?
Thank-you. I look forward to driving from Front Royal to at least Asheville on the two parkways. The only thing is I will probably have lots of company with the leaf peepers out, but maybe if I am there during the last week in September I'll beat most of the crowd. I have no worries about finding a campsite and there are several on the parkways plus any number within driving distance on some of the side roads.

I'm having a big debate with myself right now as to whether I want to drive into Northern Virginia to visit an elderly aunt who lives in Annandale. But then I'd have to take the Metro into DC for old times' sake. Decisions, decisions.
