I wonder if you guys would be willing to test my search box and see if it works for you.   For me, it seems to have stopped working about a month ago.  No matter what term I put in, it comes up with “No Result”.

I use it a lot to go back and find things we have done previously so its not working is quite frustrating.

I’m talking about the widget search box located in the right hand column of the blog under the Archive and above My blog list.   Not every browser has that one in the upper right hand corner above the blog.  I don’t for instance.

If you’ll help, just comment and let me know if you get “no result” or if you get a result from typing in “hunting island” using that search box.

Many thanks in advance

** update.  so many people are saying it worked fine that I guess I really need to know what kind of computer you have, apple or PC, what version of windows if PC and what browser you are using.  Firefox?  IE 7, 8, 9???

I AM going to figure this out or start pulling my hair out.

    1. Sorry to hear yours isn't working either. Mine has worked just fine for nearly 3 years and then poof........no more. But it appears this has been a problem for a while which ..surprise surprise....google is not paying any attention to. Contemplating switching to Word Press. Anyone want to recommend it??

    1. I sure wish it had Rose. Did you use the top search or the right hand side search? If it actually works for anyone that might give me a clue what's up here.

  4. Ours hasn't been working for about a month either. I removed it. How a company like Google can have so many employees and so much money and still have problems is beyond me.

    1. Yeah Kevin me too about Google but I'm sure their excuse is "blogger is free". I asked a reader who is quite a guru at this sort of thing and he suggested I contact their technical people. HA! He uses word press not blogger. I guess they must actually have technical people you can reach.

  5. Oh dear I think I forgot to mention that I'm talking about the widget search box that is on the right hand side beneath the archive and above my blog list. I'm not talking about the one at the top right hand corner of my blog in some folks browsers but not others.

    1. Wow Jan. did you use the top search box or the one on the right hand side of the blog. You could be two people for whom it worked.

  8. Sherry, this problem is weird but seems to be a system problem with Blogger that is affecting a lot of blogs but it's hard to track down because it works for some folks but not for others.

In the meantime, I just sent you a Javascript snippet of code that you could try as a temporary workaround. Just add the code as an HTML/Javascript Gadget.

I typed in Carolina Clan in the Search Box on the right hand side of your blog and got "No Results" I did the same on the my upper left search box and got your blog from Silver River with Gin, Syl, Bill, Me and you two. I checked my internal search box on my blog and it worked. I have Dell PC with Windows 7 Home Edition and Internet Explorer ?? Have you tried removing the search box and then adding it back??

    1. Thanks so much Nancy. I know that one on the blogger Nav bar works. I just like the other one better since it gives you all the posts containing that term without having to look through the entire post.

I did try removing it and adding it back first thing. Numerous times closing the entire browser between. So far no luck.

That clan gathering was a great time for us. Missing them.

  21. Not working for me either. I typed in "Blue Springs" and Flamingo and got nothing.

I tried mine and it worked fine.

I use a pc with Windows 8 and Chrome for my browser.

I have noticed mine often doesn't work either, then it starts working again. I guess it's a Google thing.

  23. The gadget on my blog works, but not the search gadget on your blog. You're not alone, though. I've tried search gadgets on some of the other blogs and they don't work either. Seems to be an intermittent problem, though as I've had it not work on my blog at times, too.

  28. No results. Mac, Chrome.

When I want to search my own blog (having found the search bar worthless), I just search like I would anything else, using the Google search. Not perfect, but I never get "no results."

  29. No Joy for me, typed in: David, manatee, tree hugger, beach and World's Most Wonderful Lady. Nothing happened for any of them. I was expecting to see your picture on the last search request. :cD

PS: I use Internet Explorer as my browser and I did use the search box on the right hand side of the blog. Every once in a while I actually follow directions.
