Update

Sunday February 26, 2017
Rainbow Springs State Park
Dunnellon Florida

This is a short update to say that on Friday I drove 5 hours round trip to pick David up from the hospital.  I was and am very sick with this virus and found David to be still pretty sick as well.  He does not have a fever but he is weak and we are both coughing constantly.

I had cnacelled our stay at St. Mark’s National Wildlife refuge earlier in order to stay at Rainbow Springs.  Now I have had to cancel days at St. George since neither of us in good enough health to move.

I am frankly shocked that Moffitt would discharge him in this condition but he says he’s better off here so perhaps he talked them into it by his persistant questions about the criteria for discharge.

Still no solution for the Live Writer Problem.  Perhaps today we will not both sleep all day and I can use my little energy to feel like I’m doing something by finishing the move of the final Disney post from Open Live Writer to Blogger and getting it published.  Perhaps not…….

  2. I think the best thing both of you can do is to rest. Sleep all you want, and just take it easy. There is probably nothing you need to do right now except take care of yourselves. Even the blog can wait! Thanks for the update though.

  4. Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. So sleep, relax, and get better.

  5. Glad David is out of the hospital. Lots of water, fruit juice, and rest. Flush it out. A shot of scotch wouldn't hurt either! :-) Hope things are better soon.

  8. Rest, rest, rest. Take care of both of you, and hopefully you will perk up very quickly. Being in a hospital never really seems to make one feel much better, so hopefully David will feel better being with you in your own home. Big hugs to both of you. And thanks for writing.

  10. Glad to hear David is out of the hospital. All these sickness are just signs to take a break, and just simply do nothing and nurture yourselves back to health.

  11. Stay warm, well fed, and try to rest as much as possible. Let your bodies do their thing as best they can. Keep an eye on that thermometer!

    Virtual hugs,

  12. Maybe it's better David is home, there's way too many bugs in a hospital. Hope you both feel better soon.

  13. Sorry to hear you are also sick but glad David is now home from the hospital. Also good to know that Rainbow Springs SP was able to extend your stay. Again, let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'm not very far away.

    1. Thanks so much for your offer Joyce. I don't think there is anything anyone can really do. I didn't see any contact information for you anywhere. I think these are your first comments. Glad to see you.

  14. Glad David is out of the hospital, I think!! He certainly doesn't need to be infected with what you have 😞. You both need plenty of rest and lots of fluids. Take care!!

  17. Glad to get the update, and hopefully you'll both be out and about quickly. Coughing is the worst when trying to get some rest. I'm sure you know the trick of Vicks on the bottom of your feet then putting on heavy socks under a heavy blanket - best thing I've ever found for stopping a cough :-) Feel better soon!!

  18. Glad to hear from you, but so sorry to hear that you're both still not feeling well. You got hit with a bad virus, for sure. As everyone else has said, rest, rest, and more rest. It's awful when you're both sick at the same time. :-(( How fortunate that you've been able to extend your stay at Rainbow Springs. Sending hugs. Wish we were there to make you a big pot of soup.

  22. Hi, Sherry,

I am sorry it has taken me so long to extend my get well wishes for you and David both. I locked myself out of my Google account which has caused me some problems commenting on blogs from Mexico. I am so sorry you are having to go through this, and wish I had some kind of soothing words to calm the waters you find yourself in now. Just keep charting a course and correcting with the wind, and tomorrow will be a sunnier day. Sending you lots of hugs...

  24. Moffitt did 327 lab tests and generated nearly 30 reports on tests like EKG and an echocardiogram. I know for sure I sleep MUCH better here and my bed is MUCH more comfortable too. Staying there longer would only increase my risk of another infection, so for many reasons, thank you for coming to rescue me when you yourself were sick. I had no idea how bad you were feeling!
