Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area Camping in the Woods by Another Beautiful Beach
Flagler Beach, Florida Spectacular Skies and Hullivator Troubles
On Sunday we move back to Gamble Rogers for our final stay for 2018. I’d stay here all winter if they’d just let me. It’s not the warmest place in the state for the winter but it’s definitely my favorite. We arrive in time to go over to the other side and see the sunset.
On Monday we spend some great time visiting with Steve and Mona Liza Lowe. We’ve been following each other’s blogs for years but this is the first time we’ve met in person. It’s like we’ve known them forever. They’ve been here for a week before we arrive and are unfortunately leaving tomorrow so today is our only day to spend some time together.
We have wonderful happy hoppy hour(s) together with great food and fun conversation.
David introduces them to a new beer, Ivory Stout from Brew Link Brew Companyt in Plainsfield Indiana. Both David and Steve are stout lovers, Mona Liza not so much but even she likes this one. They toast the beer. Wish I’d noticed that we didn’t have the front of the can Mona Liza was drinking from in the picture.
We get some great eastern skies as a result of the sunset. But once the sun is setting it gets too chilly for us all and we call it an evening. It was so great meeting them. Hope we’ll be able to see them again in the future. That may be difficult since we haven’t been able to get out west and Mona Liza doesn’t much care for coming east.
Tuesday I head out to the beach for a little reading time.
Wednesday brings another great sunrise. The dawn clouds are fantastic!
Here comes the sun!
In the afternoon I take a break from packing for our trip tomorrow to get what is becoming our annual ‘Santa Hats at the Beach’ picture.
Tomorrow we’ll be flying to Baltimore to spend a few Holiday days with Carrie and her family.
More on that when we return. We hope your holidays are Merry and Bright!
I hope you have a wonderful time with the two grandkiddos this year. Beautiful pics of the sunrise. My husband never sees sunrises either.
