I just love our campsite launch spot.
I have ALMOST everything I need in the kayak to set out for the afternoon.
I love my tree too!
And then it is so easy to just slip into the water.
We paddle with mangroves on both sides. The trees stand in mud on roots that look like stilts above water that contains a high degree of salt.
What an Exquisite day for a paddle!!
There are birds everywhere we look
We move out into the bay and it becomes more windy and
rough without the protection of the mangroves.
We paddle around the point
and back toward the shelter of the mangroves.
This one has no trouble with choppy water.
Until we show up.
Back in the mangroves, we spend hours just
floating and paddling and watching
Some of us are having bad hair days.
Luckily mine doesn’t show under my hat as I spy this heron.
This seems an excellent way
to deal with the wind and waves. He’s the only other person we see on the water all day.
Paddling back we see
the roosters are in for the night.
It is so nice to just paddle up to the site and leave everything in the boat for the next day.
Dinner on the table in no time.
Complete with dessert.
That looks so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteAaahh! I'm relaxing on the water right along with you.
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful place to paddle! And, I know firsthand that the dessert is devine! :-)
ReplyDeleteA great paddle and dessert! It can't get much better than that!
ReplyDeleteGreat bad hair day picture. Did the bird get up on the wrong side of the bed?
ReplyDeleteIt really does not get any better than that!
ReplyDeleteDon't think I can imagine a more perfect day. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteWow, another beautiful kayak trip and another WONDERFUL meal!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day:o))
How beautiful from the water, to the birds to the meal! Out in nature is the place to be to ease the soul and lift the spirits. :) So lucky you are to have all that in your 'back yard'!
