Christmas in the Country

Monday December 26, 2011

(I’m clearly behind with this Christmas Post
but at least I got it done in the right year. J
My excuse is too busy havin’ fun and getting
ready to move on down the road)

We must have been “good enough”
since Santa found his way
to our house.

Stockings were filled as they hung on the stair railings.
Santa learned a long time ago that the chimney goes to the woodstove
so we leave the door unlocked for him.

P1050223

But first a little danish with hot chocolate for the sane
and the evil black sludge for the addicted.  J

Fire in the woodstove to make it cozy and warm

Then the family portrait.
That little girl has gotten mighty tall.
She may have to be in the middle next time.

And on to the gifts….
Carrie loved her Duckie sleepware.
You’ll see her wearing it for most
of the rest of the day. :-)
(good choice Moby)

Big packages are always exciting!

P1050227

Santa definitely knows what we need.

And what we want.

One of David’s presents was the gift of 3 hours of painting help each from Sherry and Carrie.
So after presents, we went outside in the
beautiful nearly 60 degree sunshine and got to work.

Remember the “before” picture from
The Day BEFORE Christmas?

Here we go to change all that.

Check out this progress.  Final coat tomorrow.

After an hour and a half it was dinner time
and THEN time for the traditional Christmas movie.
Usually it’s the 1951 version of A Christmas Carol,
or the 1947 version of A Miracle on 34th Street
Or White Christmas 1954 or It’s a Wonderful Life 1946.

But this year, Santa brought us
Polar Express in THREE-D

Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night
from our bay window Blue Ridge Mountain sunset view.

Of course the end of your post gave me flashbacks...PTPBS (Post Traumatic Paint Brush Syndrome).

I'm taking slow, deep breaths... ;c)
